Besides this, panelists explored examples of corruption and wasteful spending, while Libek also announced the Tax Freedom Day in Serbia (which is on May 28th) and its new\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.talas.rs\/mojporez\">Tax Calculator<\/a>\u00a0platform published on the online media outlet of the organization,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.talas.rs\/\">Talas.rs<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"img-responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/libek.org.rs\/uploads\/images\/1559054885.SVAhH6cUKGyV5q3m.jpeg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The panelists on the event were Du\u0161ko Pejovi\u0107, the director of the State Audit Institution of Serbia, Milojko Arsi\u0107, a professor at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Belgrade, Vesna Radojevi\u0107, an investigative journalist from KRIK \u2013 Crime and Corruption Reporting Network, a leading investigative journalism outlet in Serbia, and Mihailo Gaji\u0107, director of the Economic Research Unit of Libek. The panel was moderated by Milo\u0161 Nikoli\u0107, the President of Libek.<\/p>\n<p>Serbia has stabilized its public finance in recent years, but many challenges with public spending remain. From wasteful public procurements, subsidies for private investors, corruption and employment through political party channels the government spends a significant part of tax money on things that are not necessary.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"img-responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/libek.org.rs\/uploads\/images\/1559054916.B75neLUuu5aAHG7D.jpeg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In order to speed up the economic growth, Serbia needs to improve in several areas. One of these areas is reduction of taxes, especially the burden on labor.
